Portsmouth, NH – February 13, 2025 – Despite a chilly, wintry mix, the Alliance for Greater Good, along with more than 50 dedicated volunteers, delivered 1,800 homemade cookies and heartfelt cards from local students to 26 first responder locations across the Seacoast. This marks the third year that the Alliance has coordinated Cookies for First Responders as part of its celebration of Random Acts of Kindness Day.

Teachers from Portsmouth High School and Atkinson Academy reached out to organize student participation, with students from both schools creating personalized thank-you cards for each first responder location. These cards included handwritten messages of appreciation for the essential work that first responders do for the community.
One card from a Portsmouth High School student read:
"Thank you for your help when it comes to responding to emergency calls and acting quickly in critical situations. I am just writing to say thank you for all your hard work in keeping our community safe. You are appreciated more than you know. Thank you for serving, for putting others first, and for being heroes in our community."
The delivery stops included fire and police departments in Dover, Exeter, Greenland, Hampton, New Castle, Newington, North Hampton, Portsmouth, and Rye, NH, as well as Kittery, ME. Volunteers also dropped off cookies and cards at the Emergency Room of Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
The Alliance for Greater Good extends a heartfelt thank you to its volunteers for helping to show appreciation for the heroes who serve our community.
