Seacoast residents generously donated new hats, mittens, and gloves, which were distributed during Gather's annual Thanksgiving food distribution event.
Alliance co-founders, Joanne Wolfe, Julie Johnson, and Lisa Vivinetto distribute hats and mittens to families.
Over 1,700 hats and mittens given to Gather families
The newly formed Alliance for Greater Good collected and gave out over 1,700 items through their first Share the Warmth drive to benefit the families of Gather, a local non-profit fighting hunger in the greater Seacoast area.
The response from the Seacoast community was overwhelming! According to Lisa Vivinetto of the Alliance, “we hoped that the generosity of Seacoast residents would enable us to provide some holiday cheer to all the families who attended Gather’s Thanksgiving food distribution event on November 21, and we did it!” The donations included many beautiful hand-knit hats and mittens.
"...They (Gather) loved seeing the joy the event brought to families in need..."
The sunny day saw a steady stream of people all day as they selected hats, mittens, and scarves in their favorite colors. Alliance co-founders Kathryn Garcia, Julie Johnson, and Joanne Wolfe were touched by the gratitude expressed by so many of the families. Wolfe added that “the Gather team was amazed by how many items were collected. They loved seeing the joy the event brought to families in need. We couldn’t have done this without the incredible support from the many generous donations from Seacoast residents.”
