Our Beneficiaries

The Alliance for Greater Good organizes fundraisers to benefit a variety of groups.

School Children

We held back-to-school drives in collaboration with the City of Portsmouth's Welfare Department. Raising money for the purchase of backpacks and school supplies for students who otherwise could not afford them.  Additionally, we donated $500 in holiday gift cards.

Food-insecure Families*

We collect new hats, mittens, and scarves, which are given out at Gather's annual Thanksgiving food distribution event.  Gather provides hunger relief to Seacoast residents.  Since 2020, has received over 7,250 items.

Assisted Living Residents*

We engage community members, including school children, to write holiday cards to seniors living in long-term care facilities.  Since 2020, has received 5,800 cards.

Restaurant Workers & Food-insecure Residents

Partnering with Take Out Hunger, we raised money for food insecure residents and gave work to restaurant employees during the pandemic.  Along with Alliance supporters, we surprised a server with a large tip.

Women Leaving Shelters & Recovery Centers

Collaborating with Purseverance 207 we collected 250 gently used purses and wallets for women transitioning from homeless shelters, recovery centers, and domestic violence shelters.  We also raised money through a local cabi stylist to fill these purses with necessities, such as deodorant, soap, toothpaste, etc.

Neighbors Needing Financial Assistance

We raised $2,500 for Womenaid of Greater Portsmouth, who provides short-term financial assistance to neighbors in need when they have nowhere else to turn.

Families and Individuals With Mental Health Needs

We hosted a Lantern Festival to illuminate 400 years of community kindness as a part of the Portsmouth 400th Celebration.  We raised $22,000 for Seacoast Mental Health Center to help individuals and families with their mental health needs.

Homeless Families and Individuals 

Through the generosity of UNH faculty, we gave 200+ new, warm winter accessories to homeless families and individuals sheltered by Cross Roads House.

First Responders*

In celebration of Random Acts of Kindness Day, we delivered 2,272 cookies baked by Alliance supporters to 20 local first responder locations across the Seacoast.
